Favourite Hair Care Products

Hello.

Today I wanted to share with you the things I like to use on my hair regularly.

Schwarzkopf Got2B Guardian Angel Heat Protection Spray

I think it's really important to use a heat protection spray, and since I've been using this my hair feels a lot less dry when I've dried it.

Wella Shockwaves Volumizing Mousse

This helps my hair to not be static, and it's definitely worth the money. It also includes extra heat defence.

Wella Shockwaves Ultra Strong Power Hold Hairspray

I've tried to stop using hairspray as much, but sometimes if I've curled my hair and need it to stay I'll spray some of this, and it's the best hairspray I've ever used.

Favourite Female YouTubers

Hello.

I'm a huge YouTube fan, so I wanted to tell you a few of the channels that I really enjoy. Since I love so many, I've split my list into female and male, so the next one will be coming next week!

Zoella
Zoe was the first YouTuber I ever watched, and even though I'm not as obsessed as I used to be, I still love her videos and think she's absolutely gorgeous.

Velvet Gh0st
Gabby's videos are more American style, and I find them really interesting. I think she's very different from other YouTubers, and I love her videos.

ThatPommieGirl
I first heard about Sarah Ashcroft from her instagram, which led me to her blog, and eventually her YouTube channel. She does her makeup so well, and I've learnt loads of beauty tips from her!

Kaushal Beauty
I discovered Kaushal at the same time I found Sarah. Her makeup always looks stunning and I love watching her tutorials.

Niomi Smart
I think Niomi is so gorgeous, and I really enjoy her videos. I love how natural she does her makeup and her videos are always really well filmed.

Who's your favourite YouTuber?

Makeup Haul // Maybelline

Hello.

Recently I popped to the shops with my Mum, and even though I wanted to try and save my money, I ended up caving in and picking up 3 items from Boots.

Maybelline Colour Sensational Lipstick in '728 - Honey Beige'

I've had my eye on MAC's 'Velvet Teddy' for ages, and it's never in stock, so when I found this for just £8, I had to get it. It's almost identical and I can't wait to start wearing it!

Maybelline Dream Matte Mouse in '50 - Sun Bronze'

Now before you all go mad, I realise that this isn't my skin colour. I got this for contouring, because Kaushal Beauty made a video on contouring with foundation and I really wanted to give it a go.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

This one was another of Kaushal Beauty's recommendations, as she uses this mascara and her eyes always look amazing.

Will you be trying out any of these items?

Babyliss Curl Secret // Review

Hello.

For Christmas I was given the Babyliss Curl Secret Hair Curler, as I was desperate to get one since I saw it on TV. Here's my honest opinion.

I'm not sure if I got a dodgy one, or if it's really not that good, but I'm not a huge fan. For £120, I feel as though it should not burn every other piece of hair off, and tangle half your head in the machine. The first time I used this, I gave up almost straight away, after one piece of hair got completely stuck in the machine, and it took my Dad 5 minutes to separate me from the daunting contraption.

But for the price it cost her, my Mum convinced me to persevere. My friend, who's hair is much longer than mine, told me it took her 20 minutes, but after over an hour, I still wasn't done curling my hair. My brother even commented on how badly my room smelt of burning. Oh, don't worry, that's just my hair on fire.

I would recommend this product to absolutely nobody, and I think it's a complete waste of money.

Anxiety Tips

Hello.

If you haven't guessed from the title, I suffer from anxiety, which is rather annoying. It often gets in the way of my education and social life, so instead of boring you all with my sob story, I wanted to share 5 things I try to do to make myself feel a little bit better.

Go out and see people
If you suffer from anxiety you'll know that this is really difficult. I hate meeting new people, and dread going anywhere where I might see someone I know. However you can still see people, just make sure it's in an environment where you feel comfortable. For example, I invited all my friends to my house for the evening, where I can spend time with people and socialise, but also feel 100% relaxed as it's my house and I have complete control over who I'll be seeing there.

Get enough sleep
This honestly helps so much. I know it's difficult, as a few weeks ago I was up all night worrying about school and by the time I had to get up I felt so anxious that I thought I was going to be sick. But you really need to make sure you're relaxed and ready for bed at a normal time, because staying up late just gives you more time to worry about things.

Stay away from negative people
This may not be the same for all people, but I find that something that really triggers my anxiety is when other people talk about it. I don't like talking about it at all, and even writing this post is making me feel a bit upset. This is why I find it really important to surround yourself with really positive people. Luckily for me, my best friend is like a little ball of sunshine, and in our 5 years of friendship I think I've only seen her sad about 4 times, but for anyone who's surrounded by negative people, try and distance yourself from them.

Don't overthink things
This is the rule I break most often. I am a master of overthinking things to the point that I explode into a big puddle of tears and don't get out of bed for the rest of the day. As hard as it is (and this one will take practice), just try and go with the flow, and think about the present, instead of worrying about the future.

Stay organised
I find that I really dread something if I'm not properly prepared. For example, I find school a lot easier if I do my homework in good time, and keep track of everything.

Do you have any tips for dealing with anxiety?

Everyday School Makeup

Hello.

As you may have gathered, as a 15 year old human, I go to school. And even though we have a no makeup rule in our school, I don't think I could go a day in public without it, so here's what I use on a daily basis to create a natural look.

The links to all the products I use (and can find on the internet) will be at the end of the post.

Face Preparation

So the first thing I do when I wake up is cleanse my face. I do this using Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish, and I absolutely love it, especially with no makeup on because it feels like you're giving yourself a real facial.

The next thing I do is sort out my horrible dry lips by exfoliating using the Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub.  I then moisturise my lips with my Nivea Cream.

The final thing I do to prepare my skin for the day is moisturise using the Simple Kind to Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser.

Face Makeup

The first thing I do is my foundation. For foundation I use the Vichy Dermablend Corrective Foundation, which I'm sure you've all heard be obsess over. This is probably the best foundation I've ever used, and I don't think I could ever go back to anything else.
I apply my foundation with a Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, and I absolutely love this brush because it's really easy to build coverage with it.

The next thing I use is my Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer, and I apply this to any blemishes, and under my eyes, with a Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush.

Then, I apply my blusher. At the moment I'm using 'Fleur Power' by MAC, which is a gorgeous baby pink colour, and definitely worth the money. I apply this to the apples of my cheeks using a Real Techniques Buffing Brush.

The final step of my face makeup is to powder my face. I apply the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in the colour Pink Blossom, and I apply this with a Real Techniques Blush Brush.

Eye Makeup

The first step of my eye / eyebrow makeup is to fill in my brows. First of all I just use a cheap eyebrow brush to comb through my eyebrows. Then I use the colour 'Mystery' by MAC and apply it with a Real Techniques Brow Brush.

Then I apply my mascara. The first mascara I use is by MAC, but the name has rubbed off and I can't find it on the website so I don't think they do it anymore unfortunately. I apply a few coats of this to my top and bottom lashes.
The second mascara I use is the Collection Extreme Coloured Lengthening Mascara.

Lip Makeup

The first thing I do to my lips is moisturise them, usually with an EOS Lip Balm.
Then I apply a lipstick. I use lots of different lipsticks but at the moment I'm loving 'Angel' and 'Please Me' by MAC.

And that's all the products I use on a normal school day! Obviously, sometimes I use more or less products, but these are the things I use most of the time.

Makeup Haul // Seventeen, Zoella Beauty, MAC

Hello.

Recently I found myself with a bit of money, and decided to treat myself to some new makeup. I wanted to show you the things I bought.

The first thing I picked up was the Seventeen Brows That brow kit. My friend was picking up her second one of these, and she recommended it to me. I honestly love it. It's really useful for me, because I used to use a MAC eyeshadow from my huge palette, so I could never take it anywhere in my makeup bag. But this is a lot smaller, so I can easily bring it with me.

The next thing I picked up was this gorgeous makeup bag from Zoella's collection. I've wanted this for ages, and I'm really glad I finally have it. It fits all of my makeup in, and I love it.

I also bought some Cheryl Cole eyelashes. I'm really getting into wearing eyelashes recently, so I wanted to fork out and buy some really good ones. I haven't used these yet but they were recommended to me by a friend and I can't wait to try them.

The real damage was done in MAC. I picked up two lipsticks here, and I tried to go for shades I wouldn't usually choose. The first one is 'Shy Girl', and even though it looks kind of pinkish in the pictures, it's a gorgeous nude colour. The second one is 'Party Line', a really pretty dark red colour, because I really want to try wearing more exciting colours.

Favourite Real Techniques Brushes

Hello.

As all of my brushes are Real Techniques, and I'm absolutely obsessed with the brand, I wanted to count down my 5 favourite brushes from their collection!

Buffing Brush

I love using this brush for my blusher, and to blend in my foundation. It prefer using this for blusher than the actual blush brush, because I feel like this is a lot more precise because it's smaller.

Eye Shadow Brush

I absolutely love the Real Techniques eye shadow brush. It's amazing for blending, and feels really soft and gentle on your eyes.

Concealer Brush

I tried using a beauty blender for my concealer, but I always ended up going back to this brush. I think it's originally intended for use on your eyes but I think it's perfect for blending in concealer.

Eyebrow Brush

I can't imagine myself ever not using this to do my eyebrows. It's the perfect shape and makes filling in my brows so much easier.

Expert Face Brush

Whenever anyone thinks of Real Techniques, they immediately think of the expert face brush. Although it isn't top of my list, I still really love this brush, as it gives you great coverage and always feels soft and fluffy.

Do you have any Real Techniques brushes?

EOS Lip Balms // Review

Hello.

I first bought some EOS lip balms in April 2014, when I went on holiday to New York. I then became obsessed with them and started to build up my collection. Now I've got 4, and my opinion is starting to change.

I'm really not sure if I like them. I love the packaging, and I think the colours are so cute. I also love the smell of them, but I'm not too sure on the actual product.

My lips have been really dry over the past few months, and instead of fixing them, using EOS lip balm has seemed to make it worse. They aren't the most hydrating for bad skin, and I think they'd be great if you had perfect lips, but for people like me who actually need lip balm, they don't do their job very well.

I've always been really tempted to buy more because of how they smell and look (and I also like having large collections of things), but for the price they are, I really don't think it's worth it.

Beauty Goals for 2015

Hello.

I believe it's never too late to set goals for yourself (which is why this is being posted in February), so I wanted to make a list of 5 things I want to do this year that are beauty related!

Fill more of my MAC palette
I currently have 6/15 eye shadows in my MAC palette, and although it's quite ambitious to try and fill all the empty spaces this year, I'd definitely like to fill up a few more spaces!

Do my eyebrows myself
I get my eyebrows waxed every 2 months (roughly), and after each time I promise to myself that I won't get them done again, as it's quite painful and I don't really have the money. But then I forget to pluck them and 2 months later I'm sat back down on the eyebrow waxing bed thingy. My aim is to pluck them myself so I don't have to put myself through the torture of getting them waxed.

Have my hair down more
Over the years, I've developed quite a fear of having my hair down. I'm scared it won't stay straight, or it will rain, or it will go static, so I resort to scraping it up on top of my head. This year I want to learn to just have my hair down and not worry about if it will stay straight or not.

Learn how to do eyeliner
I don't think I even own an eyeliner, as the idea of drawing a perfectly straight line on my eyeball is very stressful to me. I'd really like to pick up a cheap eyeliner and give it a go though, because I think eyeliner can completely change the way your eye makeup looks.

Keep my makeup brushes clean
I hardly ever wash my makeup brushes, and I really need to start doing it more often. It can help your skin and improve how well the brush works. I'm hopefully going to start cleaning them more regularly.

What beauty goals do you want to achieve this year?

January Favourites // 2015

Hello.

Since it's the first of February today, I wanted to let you know 3 things I've been loving over the month of January.

Nivea Cream & Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub
I'm including these two things together because I've been using them together. Over the Winter months my lips have been really chapped and horrible, and these two products have saved them. I exfoliate my lips first using the lip scrub, which tastes amazing and works really well, and then I put on some Nivea cream before I go to sleep, so it has all night to sink into my lips. Although my lips are still quite dry now, these products have helped so much and for the price they are, I'd recommend them to anyone.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser
I got this for Christmas in 2013, and ran out after about 6 months (it lasts AGES), so I was really happy when I got it again this Christmas. It's my absolute favourite cleanser and it makes my skin feel so soft after I use it.

No7 Makeup Brush Cleanser
I got this after it was mentioned in Gabby's video, and I honestly am so glad I bought this. When I asked my Mum to pick it up for me, she was outraged at the price, but I think it's definitely worth the money. It's so much easier than deep cleaning your brushes every time they get dirty, and in my opinion, they actually look cleaner! I'm obsessed with this product, and will continue to use it for ages.

What have you been loving this month?
