My Top 5 Lipsticks // Updated

I'm a massive lipstick lover, so it's only natural that I have my favourites. Here's my top 5 favourite lipsticks.

My first favourite is a new addition to my collection. It's the Maybelline Colour Sensational Creamy Matte lipstick in '975 - Divine Wine'. I absolutely love this lipstick, even though I've only had it for a few weeks. It's probably the darkest red I own, and looks amazing for Winter.

My next favourite is my Topshop lipstick in 'Mink'. I wear this every single day for school and it's probably overtaken Velvet Teddy by MAC as my favourite nude lipstick. It's a brown-pink colour, and I'm obsessed with it.

The next lipstick I want to mention is a little bit pricey. It's my Too Faced Melted Ruby lipstick. I've had this for quite a few months, and it's such a gorgeous colour. It's a really bright pink-red colour, and it's one of the only colours I could probably pull off in Summer as well as Winter.

I couldn't write this post without mentioning MAC in some way. I'm in love with MAC's 'All Fired Up' lipstick. It's a pink-red kind of colour, and a little bit darker than Melted Ruby.

My final favourite is a NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in 'Amsterdam'. I've got my eye on about 5 other colours because I love these lipsticks. It's a really bright red lipstick, which makes a change from the rest of my reds as they're mostly dark reds. It's really pigmented and I love it.

Lipsticks For Beginners // Bright Colours

As the final post in my Lipsticks For Beginners mini-series, I wanted to share a few of my favourite bright colours.

No7 Stay Perfect Lipstick in 'Raspberry Blush'
This is a fairly new purchase, so I haven't had much chance to try it out, but it's an amazing bright pink colour. This would look amazing on any skin type, in my opinion.

Topshop Lipstick in 'Maracoon'
This is another bright pink, except this one is a little bit lighter. It's very matte as well, while the No7 lipstick is a little bit more glossy.

Loreal Colour Riche Matte Lipstick in '228'
This is a more orange colour, and looks amazing on fair skin. I don't think it's too matte, but it also isn't too glossy so it's good for anyone who isn't sure what kind of finish they like.

MAC 'Pink Pigeon'
This is a gorgeous bright pink colour. A little bit darker than the Topshop shade, but a little bit brighter than the No7 shade. This is really matte, and looks amazing in Summer.

MAC 'Flat Out Fabulous'
This is probably the darkest colour included in this post. It doesn't come off as purple as it looks, but it's a deep pink colour, and I love it. It's a good mix between dark and bright.

School Tips

As I'm in year 11 now, and will be doing my GCSEs soon, I'm trying to pick up a few healthy habits that will help me survive my last year. I thought I'd share them with you.

Do homework the day you get it
I know this is the first tip anyone will give you, but it honestly helps. You don't end up getting stressed, you have time to make it the best you can do, if you need help you have time to ask your teacher, and above all that you feel really organised and cool (or maybe that's just me).

Get a board for any important things
I have a cork board that I keep on my desk, and on this I keep my timetable, as well as a plan of my week. I also write any homework I have, and the due date, and pin it up on my board so I can see what I have to do.

Make sure you have good stationary
Make sure you've got a good amount of pens, pencils, rulers and other important things. It's pretty obvious why.

Keep sheets in folders
I find folders really useful for when I'm revising, as everything you need is all in one place. I have a folder for each subject.

Do you have any school tips?

1 Year of Olivia Rose

Hello.

So it's officially one year since I relaunched my blog, and have been regularly uploading. I love blogging so much, and I wanted to thank everyone who reads my blog, whether it be regularly or just a few posts. It means the absolute world to me that people take the time to have a look around my little space on the internet, and I hope my next year of blogging will be just as amazing.

Real Techniques Bold Metals Brushes // Review

I recently picked up three Real Techniques Bold Metals brushes, as I wanted to see what all the hype was about and they were on offer in Boots. Here's what I think.

I got 200 - Oval Shadow, 300 - Tapered Blush & 100 - Arched Powder. I think they're amazing. They're so soft and feel a lot more high end than the core collection. The Oval Shadow brush is amazing for blending, and I now find it hard to do my eye makeup without it. The face brushes are equally incredible, as they're so soft and make applying powder or even liquid products so easy.

Even though they are quite expensive, I would definitely recommend them to anyone who loves makeup and likes to spend their money on building up their collection.

Have you tried any Bold Metals brushes?

Lipsticks For Beginners // Reds & Dark Colours

Read 'Lipsticks For Beginners // Nudes & Pinks' here

I usually wear darker colours, as I think they suit me more, so I have a lot to get through in this post. Here's some I'd recommend to any lipstick newbie.

Rimmel Kate Moss '05' Lipstick
This is actually the only Kate Moss lipstick I have, and I really want to get a few more. It's a dark pink berry kind of colour, and it doesn't look too wild for anyone who's experimenting with dark colours.

Loreal Colour Riche Lipstick in '376'
This one's really similar to the Kate Moss lipstick, except it's a little bit darker. I don't wear this lipstick very often as I bought it at the start of Summer and if I chose to wear a darker colour in Summer it was usually a red, but I'm excited to start using this more in the Autumn and Winter.

MAC 'All Fired Up' Lipstick
This lipstick is quite a recent purchase, and I love it. It's quite similar to the two above, but it has a more matte finish which I love.

Collection Little Mix 'Leigh Anne' Lipstick
This was the first red I ever bought, and I'm not a massive fan. It comes off quite bright which I don't like, but if you prefer bright reds then it's really affordable.

Revlon Colourburst '240' Lipstick
This one is another bright red, and it comes off kind of orange. Again, it's not my style but it is a really nice lipstick.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in 'Amsterdam'
This is a fairly new lipstick, and I love it. Matte lipsticks are my favourite kind, and the colour range is so amazing. This isn't too bright but isn't too dark, so it's a good in between for anyone who isn't sure what kind of red suits them.

MAC 'Party Line' Lipstick
I really like this lipstick, and for a while this was my go-to red. It's quite a dark red, so it would look really nice in Autumn or Winter.

Too Faced 'Melted Ruby' Lipstick
This is probably in the running for one of my favourite lipsticks. It's a gorgeous bright pink / red colour and the application is so easy.

MAC 'Flat Out Fabulous' Lipstick
I'm slowly trying to get into purple lipstick (not bright purple, don't get scared), and this is such an amazing colour. It's a mixture of pink and purple, and it's a good in between for me while I get used to purple.

Maybelline Colour Drama Lipstick in 'Berry Much'
I can't decide if I like this lipstick because sometimes it looks gorgeous and sometimes it looks sparkly and a lot darker than I thought. It is a really nice colour though, and a really dark one for anyone who prefers dark colours.

WILD by Troye Sivan // Review

I'm a massive Troye Sivan fan if you didn't know, so naturally I was quite excited when he released his second major-label EP, WILD. Here's what I think of it.

WILD
This song is probably one of my favourites. It's one of those songs that just makes you want to dance, and I'm obsessed with it. Not to mention that the music video is absolutely amazing.

BITE
Bite has a really different sound than Wild. It sounds a lot more dark and slow compared to the up-beat, happy 'Wild'. This is another one of my favourites because I haven't heard many songs like it.

FOOLS
Fools is another one of my favourites. It's a more slow song, and the lyrics are so good.

EASE (ft. Broods)
I love the lyrics of this song. It's a little bit faster than Fools but still has a really nice, relaxing sound. Troye and Georgia (from Broods) sound so amazing together, and I really like this song.

THE QUIET
At first I didn't really like this song, but it's definitely growing on me. The chorus is so good, and I love the lyrics.

DKLA (ft. Tkay Maidza)
This is the only song I'm not really keen on. I like the verses, but the chorus and the rap verse aren't really my thing.

Overall, I think this EP is absolutely amazing, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone!

Have you heard WILD?

Huge Beauty Haul // Topshop, MAC, No7, Real Techniques, Zoella Beauty

I recently sold my iPad that I'd been meaning to get rid of for ages, which left me with quite a bit of money. I went a bit mad and ended up getting a lot more than I expected, so I thought I'd turn it into a blog post to make myself feel a little bit better about the ridiculous amount that I spent.

MAC Lipstick in 'Captive'
I've decided to take a little break from MAC lipsticks for a while, in order to save myself a little bit of money, but I just couldn't leave this on the shelf (or in the drawer). It's a gorgeous purple colour and I can't wait to wear it in Autumn and Winter.

Topshop Lipstick in 'Mink'
I knew I wanted this before I bought it, as I saw it on the Topshop website and fell in love. It's a really dark nude, and would look nice in Autumn, and maybe even for school.

Real Techniques Bold Metals Brush - 100 Arched Powder
Ever since I picked up the Oval Shadow brush, I've been dying to get a few more of these brushes. They're ridiculously expensive so as they were on sale, I wanted to make the best of it and pick some up. This brush is so soft, and I can't wait to start using it.

Real Techniques Bold Metals Brush - 300 Tapered Blush
I picked these two brushes up together, and I love this one as well. I really want the flat contour brush as well.

No7 Powder Blush in 'Coral Flush'
I bought this because if I bought 2 No 7 items, I got a little goodie bag to celebrate No7's 80th anniversary, and it's such a pretty pink colour. I've been glued to my Topshop cream blush all Summer, so I'm looking forward to trying out more powder blushers.

No7 Stay Perfect Eyeshadow Duo in 'Iridescent Purple'
This is the second product I bought in order to get my goodie bag, and the colours are so pigmented. I have a similar coloured Loreal quad, but these colours are a lot darker so I'm excited to use them.

No7 Stay Perfect Lipstick in 'Raspberry Blush'
This is the first product I got free in the offer, and it's a really bright pink colour, which I love. I'm excited to wear this on warmer, sunnier days in Autumn (if we get any...).

No7 Stay Perfect Eyeshadow
I can't find the name of this colour, but I got it free and really like it. It's another purple, but quite shimmery, which I don't have much of in my collection.

No7 Skin Illuminator
I've never had a highlighter in my life, so I'm excited to try this out and see if it suits me.

No7 Intense Volume Mascara
I've been on the hunt for a new mascara for a while, so getting one free was quite good for me. I can't wait to try it out.

Zoella Beauty Fizz Bar
I purchased one of these before, and used it all up. It's amazing. It made my skin feel so soft and I can't wait to start using it again now it's getting colder outside and all you want in the evening is a nice warm bath.

Zoella Creamy Madly Dreamy Body Lotion
I've somehow developed quite dry skin over the Summer, and I have high hopes for this body lotion to help me.

Have you bought anything nice recently? Let me know in the comments!
